- OpCon 19.0 Release
SMA Technologies announces the release of OpCon 19.0
New features elevate user experience
We have updated the look and feel of OpCon with a new color palette as well as new font and styles to better align to our brand. These enhancements are designed to make it simpler and more efficient to navigate OpCon.
This release builds on the success of earlier versions with further development of our web-based Solution Manager and the OpCon API. We’ve also expanded OpCon 19.0 so that it now supports Microsoft SQL compatibility on Linux. And, to round things out, we’ve enhanced our OpCon Deploy module to ensure faster, more agile development cycles.
Further development to the Solution Manager
We’ve continued developing the OpCon Solution Manager for our 19.0 release. The Solution Manager now offers more robust operational capabilities that streamline automation administration.
New date-level actions mean that users no longer need to manage individual schedules or jobs to update statuses. Instead, they may take actions such as cancel or hold and entire days’ worth of jobs at the date level, making it easier to manage OpCon environments.
The Solution Manager also now provides a daily summary view which is a modernization of the job information screen. This gives operators and system administrators a better at-a-glance view of their automation environment. It provides metrics on scheduled jobs, when those jobs run, and what their status is. The improved view clears the clutter by showing only the defined job information.
Lastly, we’ve added in a daily history view to allow users to see an overview of each day’s run. Individual job histories are accessible for comparison and closer inspection. The new view therefore adds value in troubleshooting and trend identification.
Big core enhancements for OpCon 19.0
One of the biggest changes OpCon 19.0 brings to the table is expanded compatibility. At SMA Technologies, we want to ensure that OpCon can work with any environment. We also want to make sure our automation platform can help you build networks that can easily adapt to the accelerating pace of technological change.
So, OpCon 19.0 now supports Microsoft SQL on Linux. This is part of a larger move to support all of OpCon running on Linux, which will help broaden OpCon’s long-term reach and impact.
We’ve also bolstered our OpCon API. All features added to the Solution Manager are also added to the OpCon API. Additionally, the OpCon API can now manage all daily dependency types. This includes adding, modifying, or deleting daily jobs, thresholds, resources, or expressions dependencies.

Major updates to the OpCon Deploy module
We’ve continued enhancing the OpCon Deploy module to streamline workflow management across OpCon environments. Along with other new features, Deploy now includes cross-release support, allowing your organization to deploy schedules across releases. Highlights include:
Check in development schedules
- Checking schedules into Deploy optionally removes them from their source environment
- Ensures work will not be done on an outdated copy of the schedule
- Reduces the chance of overwriting any work done by associates
Schedules, packages, and batch deployments
- Schedule and package versions are now listed separately
- Deploy will not redeploy unchanged schedules in a package—it will deploy only updated schedules
- Batch deployments can be canceled directly in the Deploy interface
More intuitive features
- Deploy now features Windows authentication for ease of access
- The logout screen offers a more intuitive way to exit the module
- Supported features are cross-compatible with OpCon 18.3
