SMA Technologies awards winners of PHSC Mobile Tech Challenge

SMA Technologies sponsors Mobile Tech Challenge at Pasco-Hernando State College

SMA Technologies awarded Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) students Ethan Williams and Michael Corrigan $750 for their entry in the college’s Mobile Tech Challenge. Winners were recognized at a ceremony on December 7, 2016, at PHSC’s Porter Campus at Winegrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

“We are very proud to sponsor this challenge,” SMA’s director of public sector accounts Doug Park said. “As a technology company, we’re always looking for innovative solutions to everyday scenarios. The levels of creativity and innovation that Ethan and Michael put into their virtual tour will help them as they get ready to start their careers.”

The Mobile Tech Challenge asked students to use Kurogo Publisher to create a self-guided campus tour for PHSC’s mobile app. Williams and Corrigan competed against six other finalists with their tour for PHSC’s West Campus, “Welcome to PHSC!” The duo was awarded second place.

The virtual tours were judged on several criteria, including level of engagement, highlighting PHSC’s points-of-interest, creativity and innovation, design and thoroughness.
