Noridian
Add new business without adding IT staff
Challenge
With more than 800 processes per day controlled by human operators, Noridian was contending with an unacceptably high error rate.
Meanwhile, the provider’s complex environment included two Unisys mainframes, an IBM z/OS mainframe, and 300 AIX, Unix, Linux, and Windows servers.
Noridian wanted to mitigate human error, but needed a solution with cross-platform compatibility that could integrate new technologies without rendering programming and hardware obsolete.
“… Our business literally couldn’t run without OpCon.”
Kim Mehlhaff, IS Operations Manager, Noridian
Solution
The 800+ daily jobs with cross-platform dependencies that previously fell on Noridian staff were transferred to OpCon, which supports both commercial platforms and legacy systems.
“OpCon proved so efficient that our operators have more time to take on more work,” says Kim Mehlhaff, Noridian’s IS Operations Manager. “Over the years, OpCon has helped us grow our business without adding additional staff. Today, we have grown so complex and so large, that our business literally couldn’t run without OpCon.”
“OpCon is one of the most important pieces of software we have.”
Danny Mastre, Director of Infrastructure and Operations, Noridian
Results
With OpCon workload automation, Noridian has seen results like:
- Greater Efficiency: Time between jobs has been reduced to just milliseconds.
- Single Point of Control: OpCon creates a single point of control for many of Noridian’s critical cross-platform processes.
- Fewer Errors: Event-driven automation ensures jobs run accurately and avoids out-of-sequence errors.
“OpCon has helped us grow our business without adding additional staff.”
